We have more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

我們花錢太瘋,笑容太少,開車太快,

We spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast,

怒氣太盛,熬夜太晚,起身太累,

get to angry too qickly, stay up too late, get up too tired,

書讀得少,電視看得勤,卻難得禱告。

Read too little, watch TV too often, and pray too seldom.

我們不斷聚斂財富,卻逐漸丟失了自我價值。

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.

我們的話語太多,真愛太少,謊言氾濫。

有一位花販告訴我:
幾乎是所有的白花都很香,愈是顏色豔麗的花愈是缺乏芬芳。

他的結論是:
人也是一樣,愈樸素單純的人,愈有內在的芳香。

有一位花販告訴我:
夜來香其實白天也很香,但是很少聞得到。

他的結論是:
因為白天人的心太浮了,聞不到夜來香的香氣。
如果一個人白天的心也很沉靜,就會發現夜來香、桂花、七里香,連酷熱的中午也是香的。

有一位花販告訴我:
清晨買蓮花一定要挑那些盛開的。

他的結論是:
早上是蓮花開放最好的時間,如果一朵蓮花早上不開,可能中午和晚上都不開了。
我們看人也是一樣,一個人在年輕的時候沒有志氣,中年或晚年就更難有志氣了。

有一位花販告訴我:
愈是昂貴的花愈容易凋謝。

他的結論是:
那是為了要向買花的人說明:『要珍惜青春呀!因為青春是最名貴的花,最容易凋謝!』

有一位花販告訴我:
每一株玫瑰都有刺。

他的結論是:
正如每一個人的性格中,都有你不能容忍的部份。
只能學習如何不被它的刺刺傷,還有,如何不讓自己的刺,刺傷心愛的人。

有一個弟子跑去請教一位很有智慧的師父,他跟在師父的身邊,天天問同樣的問題:「師父啊,什麼是人生真正的價值?」問得師父煩透了。
有一天,師父從房間拿出一塊石頭,對他說:「你把這塊石頭,拿到市場去賣,但不要真的賣掉,只要有人出價就好了,看看市場的人,出多少錢買這塊石頭?」

弟子就帶著石頭到市場,有的人說這塊石頭很大,很好看,就出價兩塊錢;有人說這塊石頭,可以做稱鉈,出價十塊錢。結果大家七嘴八舌,最高也只出到十塊錢。弟子很開心的回去,告訴師父:「這塊沒用的石頭,還可以賣到十塊錢,真該把它賣了。」


師父說:「先不要賣,再把它拿去黃金市場賣賣看,也不要真的賣掉。」
弟子就把這石頭,拿去黃金市場賣,一開始就有人出價一千塊,第二個人出一萬塊,最後被出到十萬元。

弟子興沖沖跑回去,向師父報告這不可思議的結果。


師父對他說:「把石頭拿去最貴、最高級的珠寶商場去估價。」
弟子就去了。第一個人開價就是十萬,但他不賣,於是二十萬,三十萬,一直加到後來對方生氣了,要他自己出價。他對買家說,師父不許他賣,就把石頭帶了回去,對師父說:「這塊石頭居然被出價到數十萬。」


師父說:「是呀!我現在不能教你人生的價值,因為你一直在用市場的眼光在看待你的人生。人生的價值,應該是一個人心中,先有了最好的珠寶商的眼光,才可以看到真正的人生價值。」


我們的價值,不在於外面的評價,而是在我們給自己的定價。我們每一個人的價值,都是絕對的。堅持自己崇高的價值,接納自己,磨勵自己。給自己成長的空間,我們每個人都能成為「無價之寶」。


生命中的每個挫折、每個傷痛、每個打擊,都有它的意義。

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! * FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.
Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet etc - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes
all these will NOThappen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter.  If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI:
Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE:
An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY:
Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE :
Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON:
Coolest thirst quencher.. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene - the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA:
Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer!
Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting.. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack . Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive...

A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas.  He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain..  Read on:

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:
Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia :
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

 

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness

Mosquito bites:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin.. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight
and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:
Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use:
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance.. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:
According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts:
Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

 

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills.. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe....polish with dry cloth.. Amazing fruit !!!

四十以後才明白 

四十以後才明白:好朋友是應該相互欣賞,而不是相互利用。好朋友只能在同一階層中產生,而窮人和富人,百姓與達官,草根與明星,白丁與學者則永遠也成不了真正意義上的朋友。因為不在同一階層,便永遠也不會有對方對本階層的深刻體會與感悟。

 

四十以後才明白:飯應該一口一口的吃,事要一點一點的做。沒有一蹴而就的事情,所以就不應該疲於奔命。中年,應該活得從容。

 四十以後才明白:任何事物都是有兩重性的,有時候甚至沒有對錯。你以為錯的,在別人看來或許是對的。而你竭盡全力為之奮鬥的,卻很有可能正是別人想擺脫和拋棄的。

四十以後才明白:生活品質的優劣,完全取決於自己的心態。修饈美味,觥籌交錯間,如果掩飾的是爾虞我詐,則遠不如三五知己坐,淡茶話家常來得可心。如果高官厚褥卻窮于心智,惶于仕途,就遠不如采菊東籬下,悠然見南山活的逍遙。

四十以後才明白:我們的伴侶看似平淡無奇,有些時候甚至難以忍受,其實歲月的年輪早已將彼此交融在一起了。即使惡習俗性,也已成為自己生命的一部分。如果有一天你真的撕毀這不堪的婚姻,就會發現,每撕一片都會連著自己的皮肉和筋骨。

四十以後才明白:我們對孩子溺愛,就像高脂高糖一樣危害著他們的健康 --- 我們害怕他們走彎路 ; 我們擔心他們吃苦頭 ; 我們憂慮他們經風雨。我們全家人為他們搭起了大棚,然後呆呆地望著他們柔弱的發育。

四十以後才明白:對待父母,再不可做薄養厚葬的傻事了。他們那一輩子受的磨礪太多了,善待他們,就是善待我們的良心。說起善待父母都很心疼錢的,但要動動腦筋,事情就會圓滿的完成。比如,可以去酒店訂一份極品燕窩湯,端回家告訴父母說,是在小攤上買的2元一碗的銀耳湯,然後看著他們幸福的享用。其實大多的時間,他們根本就不需要你的榮華。每週問他們一個年輕時候的故事,然後聽著他們講完,就很知足了。

四十以後才明白:職位只不過是一個杯子,而你的修養和品性,才是杯中的尤物。夜光杯中盛的,未必就是葡萄美酒,也可能是一杯濁水 ; 粗瓷盞裏不見得就是白開水,很可能是泡的一盞極品龍井。個中的品質,全在自己的後天造化!!!

夕陽無限好!

有首歌唱的是明天會更好,為的是給人信心與鼓勵,現實生活裡明天會不會更好不知道?

但是,明天會更老!是確定的!

 

人生的軌跡就像太陽的運行,從日出、朝陽、烈日、夕陽、日落西山。

歲月如流水,70歲按年過、80歲按月過、90歲就按天過了,何不讓每一天都過得快快樂樂呢?

 

歲月要走過,才知道它的凌厲,到了某個年紀不得不承認地心引力的厲害,器官樣樣俱在,只是都下垂!

請愛惜自己

 

衛生署日前公佈了去年國人的十大死因統計,惡性腫瘤(癌症)又第二十度蟬聯冠軍,而且是每四名死亡人口中,就有一人「因癌而死」,顯示這二十年來,癌症和國人真的是如影隨形。

 

聞之色變

 

十大癌症死因中,又以肺癌居首,其次是肝癌、結腸直腸癌、女性乳癌、胃癌、子宮頸癌、口腔癌、攝護腺癌、淋巴癌與食道癌。除了眾人聞之色變的肺癌、肝癌外,值得注意的是結腸直腸癌、胃癌、食道癌的排名居高不下,而且往前衝。

個中原因在飲食內容之外,應該也和國人飲食習慣有密不可分的關係。

 

這些習慣最顯而易見的如:

暴飲暴食、重宵夜、三餐不定時、忽冷忽熱、倉促進食、早餐不吃,或者一大早就喝 冰咖啡、冰飲等。

哭泣的史瑞克

 

當你步入生命終點,不能走、不能講、不能想、不能吃喝,只能靠呼吸器,就快閉眼長逝,醫生告訴你,只剩最後一次機會,只給你最後兩小時,回到你以前熟悉的世界,你最想做什麼?

 

至今看到那張照片:闃黑的電影院,一個骨瘦如柴的癌末病人,旁邊一個哭紅雙眼的女兒,和背後一群不斷拭淚的親友,總會一陣鼻酸。
